Giving & Serving Opportunities

We have provided a list of opportunities below for people to help out by volunteering or financially assisting organizations who are serving the vulnerable in our community.

Consider ways to serve your neighborhood!

  • Call an elderly neighbor and see if they need assistance.
  • Write a note and drop it in your neighbors’ mailbox!
  • Be a Pen Pal with an individual or family who might be in need of encouragement right now! Email to get on the Pen Pal List!
  • Get a carry-out meal from small local businesses! Follow @gr_support_local on Instagram for the hours of open Grand Rapids restaurants! Some of our local favorites that are open for carry-out include: The Mitten, Tacos El Cuñado, Chicago Style Gyro, Roots Brew Shop, Blue Dog Tavern, Rise Bakery, Two Scotts BBQ, & City Built Brewing.

If you have recently been ill, please refrain from volunteering until you are at least 48 hours symptom-free.

Versiti Blood Center

Due to COVID-19, many blood drives have been cancelled and as a result, there is a shortage of blood donation. Versiti is still doing blood donations at many different locations and if you are interested in giving blood, please click here!
