A Radically New Humanity: A Biblical Theology of Being Human
Taught by: Tim Gombis, professor at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary
Starts Feb 5 for 4 weeks | 11am service
This study focuses on God's design for the wonder and soul-satisfying freedom of being alive in God's good world and how that life-giving vision was marred because of human rebellion. God demonstrated the liberating mode of being human he always wanted for us by sending Jesus. God calls the church to inhabit and participate in the life of Jesus on earth, an existence that is counter-intuitive and counter-cultural, but entirely possible because of God's Spirit among us. This study will explore how to make a way toward activating this deeply satisfying reality in practical ways.
Basics Class: An Introduction to Faith
Taught by: James + Alexiana Fry
Starts Feb 5 for 5 weeks | 9am service | Upper Room North
If you are new to the faith or just starting the exploration process, we invite you to join us for a great initial step. This five-week elective will walk through the basics of what it means to be a follower of Christ and answer questions such as: What is the gospel? Who is Jesus? What is Christianity?
Life: From All Angles
March 5, 12, 19 | 9am Service | Upper Room South
From the beginning to the end and everything in between, God cares about the lives of all of his creations. Join us as we engage the topics of life from all angles - the unborn to the elderly, the orphan and the refugee, along with racial and cultural conversations. Various presenters will help us engage our thinking and how the gospel speaks into each situation. Our hope is to reorient our worldview upward to see life as God sees so we may change inwardly to feel as God feels in order to go out and work alongside him to renew the city and impact the world.
