These sessions are open to any adult regardless of whether your experience is recent or not so recent. The group is led by individuals who have personally experienced grief due to a loved one’s death. \nEach week includes a DVD teaching time followed by group discussion on topics relevant to your situation. You will also receive a workbook to keep you engaged throughout the week. DESCRIPTION:Band of Brothers is a small community of men who gather every Wednesday morning in the Cave to study the Bible and grow together. We pray\, share\, study and talk about how to live as men through our faith in Jesus. We meet every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am and wrap up by 7:00. We meet in person but also offer Zoom attendance if needed. Coffee and friendship are always offered. Band of Brothers is always open for new guys\, so if you want to connect right away\, make some new friends and get into God’s Word\, reach out to the leader via email and jump in. Please contact Ray Carmichael before joining us on a Wednesday morning. \n“My wife and I started attending Crossroads in the summer of 2017\, having moved to Grand Rapids from Chicago. We didn’t know anyone at church but knew God had led us there. I needed a group of men who I could trust\, enjoy and be honest with. I found it in Band of Brothers where I have grown in my faith\, encouraged by others and stretched in my understanding of Scripture. The truth is that many men are stuck in sexual bondage\, stuck in slavery to porn and lustful thoughts. To you\, Jesus says\, “I have come to proclaim release to the Captives\, and Freedom to the oppressed.” Join a small group of guys who are pursuing holiness and healing together. \nThis group is currently closed. My whole life I “knew” of Jesus\, but that simple knowledge did nothing to free me from a life of slavery. DESCRIPTION:Join with a bunch of guys around the fire in Byron Center on the 4th Saturday of each month! Fireside Gatherings are for any guys over the age of 18\, who desire to grow in their faith in a laid back\, and welcoming atmosphere where they are free to be themselves. Typically\, we will spend the first little while catching up with friends and getting to know any newcomers while enjoying some good food. Then one of our Crossroads guys will share some of their story and give us some questions and ideas to kick around. Conversations will generally center around the lessons learned through our experiences of walking as Jesus followers in everyday life. \nReal stories\, real guys\, real life… \nWe also believe Fireside gives us a chance to encourage and support any guys who are in the midst of hard stuff\, so every gathering has a time for prayer and coming around guys who may be feeling it. If you are struggling\, please come and find this to be a place with no judgement and a lot of concern for your heart. \nWhat to Bring\nCamp chair\, beverage of choice (we typically have coffee\, especially during the cold months). Food is provided! Dress appropriately! We hope you experience some authentic and meaningful community at Fireside. Some guys may choose to puff on something around the fire or consume an adult beverage and some guys don’t. We feel that is just fine. We simply ask everyone to be responsible with how much alcohol they consume and limit it to a couple. DESCRIPTION:The heart of a man is hardwired to connect with God\, seek adventure alongside a band of brothers\, and partner with God in impacting the world. But too often we forsake this kind of life and just give ourselves to the daily grind. This weekend is about the recovery of your heart. It’s about plugging yourself into the larger story that God is writing in this world instead of the lesser narratives all around us. It’s about getting real with each other and with God. \nAt a story retreat we will explore the woods\, enjoy the cabin\, eat great food\, and gather around the campfire. However\, the real meat of the weekend will be an opportunity to explore our stories\, and confront the ways in which the enemy has tried to keep us down. We go to the wilderness to explore the things that make our hearts come alive\, but we also go to the wilderness to unearth and tend to the places in our story where we feel stuck so we can open ourselves up to receive all God has for us. \nThe weekend is a combination of fun in the wilderness\, storytelling\, times of reflection\, and times of sharing together. The cabin will be comfortable\, the wilderness beautiful\, the meals delicious\, and the campfires will burn into the night. DESCRIPTION:No matter the cause of your loved one’s death\, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling. \nYou will learn valuable information on facing life situations\, recognize symptoms of normal emotions and those of being stuck\, and you’ll gain renewed hope for the future. These sessions are open to any adult regardless of whether your experience is recent or not so recent. The group is led by individuals who have personally experienced grief due to a loved one’s death. \nEach week includes a DVD teaching time followed by group discussion on topics relevant to your situation. You will also receive a workbook to keep you engaged throughout the week. Our hope is that you will find encouragement\, help\, and healing in grieving the death of your loved one. \nThis group will meet from February 10–May 5. We didn’t know anyone at church but knew God had led us there. I needed a group of men who I could trust\, enjoy and be honest with. The truth is that many men are stuck in sexual bondage\, stuck in slavery to porn and lustful thoughts. To you\, Jesus says\, “I have come to proclaim release to the Captives\, and Freedom to the oppressed.” Join a small group of guys who are pursuing holiness and healing together. \nThis group is currently closed. My whole life I “knew” of Jesus\, but that simple knowledge did nothing to free me from a life of slavery. Somewhere deep in my soul I desired freedom but I honestly had never even thought it was possible. My marriage was deteriorating\, and I was a drunk that was driven by fear and lust.. Then God…\, through the love and counsel of a brother in Christ\, walked me through steps of repentance and forgiveness. Jesus destroyed the chains that held me captive. DESCRIPTION:Join with a bunch of guys around the fire in the Rockford area on the 2nd Friday of the month! Fireside Gatherings are for any guys over the age of 18\, who desire to grow in their faith in a laid back\, and welcoming atmosphere where they are free to be themselves. Typically\, we will spend the first little while catching up with friends and getting to know any newcomers while enjoying some good food. Then one of our Crossroads guys will share some of their story and give us some questions and ideas to kick around. Conversations will generally center around the lessons learned through our experiences of walking as Jesus followers in everyday life. \nReal stories\, real guys\, real life… \nWe also believe Fireside gives us a chance to encourage and support any guys who are in the midst of hard stuff\, so every gathering has a time for prayer and coming around guys who may be feeling it. If you are struggling\, please come and find this to be a place with no judgement and a lot of concern for your heart. \nWhat to Bring\nCamp chair\, beverage of choice (we typically have coffee\, especially during the cold months). Food is provided! Dress appropriately! We hope you experience some authentic and meaningful community at Fireside. Some guys may choose to puff on something around the fire or consume an adult beverage and some guys don’t. We feel that is just fine. We simply ask everyone to be responsible with how much alcohol they consume and limit it to a couple. The truth is that many men are stuck in sexual bondage\, stuck in slavery to porn and lustful thoughts.
