DESCRIPTION:Captivity to Freedom is a community offered to men who feel captive to the slavery of sin. The truth is that many men are stuck in sexual bondage\, stuck in slavery to porn and lustful thoughts. To you\, Jesus says\, “I have come to proclaim release to the Captives\, and Freedom to the oppressed.” Join a small group of guys who are pursuing holiness and healing together. Group runs weekly from September through May. There is also a group offered on Wednesday mornings from 6:00-7:30AM. \nRegistration required. Please reach out to Andy with any questions. \n“Sixteen years ago I was shackled to every sinful desire I could imagine. My whole life I “knew” of Jesus\, but that simple knowledge did nothing to free me from a life of slavery. Somewhere deep in my soul I desired freedom but I honestly had never even thought it was possible. My marriage was deteriorating\, and I was a drunk that was driven by fear and lust.. These sessions are open to any adult regardless of whether your experience is recent or not so recent. The group is led by individuals who have personally experienced grief due to a loved one’s death. \nEach week includes a DVD teaching time followed by group discussion on topics relevant to your situation. You will also receive a workbook to keep you engaged throughout the week. Our hope is that you will find encouragement\, help\, and healing in grieving the death of your loved one. \nThis group will meet from September 14–December 14. DESCRIPTION:Band of Brothers is a small community of men who gather every Wednesday morning in the Family Room to study the Bible and grow together. We pray\, share\, study and talk about how to live as men through our faith in Jesus. We meet every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am and wrap up by 7:00. We meet in person but also offer Zoom attendance if needed. Coffee and friendship are always offered. Band of Brothers is always open for new guys\, so if you want to connect right away\, make some new friends and get into God’s Word\, reach out to the leader via email and jump in. Please contact Ray Carmichael before joining us on a Wednesday morning. \n“My wife and I started attending Crossroads in the summer of 2017\, having moved to Grand Rapids from Chicago. We didn’t know anyone at church but knew God had led us there. I needed a group of men who I could trust\, enjoy and be honest with. I found it in Band of Brothers where I have grown in my faith\, encouraged by others and stretched in my understanding of Scripture. This group has become one of the most important parts of my personal and faith experiences.”\n– Ray Carmichael \nDeb and I started attending Crossroads in the fall of 2017. DESCRIPTION:Fireside Gatherings are for any adult guys who desire to grow in their faith in a laid back\, and welcoming atmosphere where they are free to be themselves. Typically\, we start with a time of catching up with friends and getting to know any newcomers while enjoying some good food. Then one of our Crossroads men will share from their story\, bring a devotional thought\, and tee up some conversation around following Jesus in everyday life. \nReal guys\, real stories\, real life… \nWe also believe Fireside gives us a chance to encourage and support any guys who are in the midst of hard stuff\, so every gathering has a time for prayer and coming around guys who may be feeling it. If you are struggling\, please come and find this to be a place with no judgement and a lot of concern for your heart. \nWhat to Bring\n\nCamp chair\, beverage of choice (we typically have coffee\, especially during the cold months). Food is provided! Dress appropriately! We hope you experience some authentic and meaningful community at Fireside. Some guys may choose to puff on a cigar around the fire or consume an adult beverage and some guys don’t. We feel that is just fine. We simply ask everyone to be responsible with alcohol and limit it to a couple. DESCRIPTION:Captivity to Freedom is a community offered to men who feel captive to the slavery of sin. The truth is that many men are stuck in sexual bondage\, stuck in slavery to porn and lustful thoughts. To you\, Jesus says\, “I have come to proclaim release to the Captives\, and Freedom to the oppressed.” Join a small group of guys who are pursuing holiness and healing together. Group runs weekly from September through May. There is also a group offered on Wednesday mornings from 6:00-7:30AM. \nRegistration required. DESCRIPTION:Band of Brothers is a small community of men who gather every Wednesday morning in the Family Room to study the Bible and grow together. We pray\, share\, study and talk about how to live as men through our faith in Jesus. We meet every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am and wrap up by 7:00. We meet in person but also offer Zoom attendance if needed. Coffee and friendship are always offered. Band of Brothers is always open for new guys\, so if you want to connect right away\, make some new friends and get into God’s Word\, reach out to the leader via email and jump in. Please contact Ray Carmichael before joining us on a Wednesday morning. \n“My wife and I started attending Crossroads in the summer of 2017\, having moved to Grand Rapids from Chicago. We didn’t know anyone at church but knew God had led us there. I needed a group of men who I could trust\, enjoy and be honest with. I found it in Band of Brothers where I have grown in my faith\, encouraged by others and stretched in my understanding of Scripture. This group has become one of the most important parts of my personal and faith experiences.”\n– Ray Carmichael \nDeb and I started attending Crossroads in the fall of 2017. It wasn’t long before I attended some men’s events\, then began coming to Band of Brothers on Wednesday mornings. It makes a big church feel smaller. The encouragement and challenge I get from studying God’s Word together\, and from talking to\, and praying with the other guys in the group are necessities in my life.
