DESCRIPTION:A Crossroads Family Meal\, at its simplest\, is a means to connect with others who call Crossroads “home”.  Even more\, it’s an opportunity to share with others in the goodness of God\, to express dependence upon him as a community\, and to celebrate all that He’s done with others in the family of God. There is so much importance in slowing down and joining with one another around the table to break bread and share stories of God’s provision and presence in our lives. The table is where relationships are deepened\, where family reconnects and where God’s faithfulness is proclaimed. \nWe love that these meals have become a regular part of the rhythm of community at Crossroads—it’s our way of making our larger family smaller. DESCRIPTION:Band of Brothers is a small community of men who gather every Wednesday morning in the Cave to study the Bible and grow together. We pray\, share\, study and talk about how to live as men through our faith in Jesus. We meet every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am and wrap up by 7:00. We meet in person but also offer Zoom attendance if needed. Coffee and friendship are always offered. Band of Brothers is always open for new guys\, so if you want to connect right away\, make some new friends and get into God’s Word\, reach out to the leader via email and jump in. Please contact Ray Carmichael before joining us on a Wednesday morning. \n“My wife and I started attending Crossroads in the summer of 2017\, having moved to Grand Rapids from Chicago. We didn’t know anyone at church but knew God had led us there. I needed a group of men who I could trust\, enjoy and be honest with. I found it in Band of Brothers where I have grown in my faith\, encouraged by others and stretched in my understanding of Scripture. This group has become one of the most important parts of my personal and faith experiences.”\n– Ray Carmichael \nDeb and I started attending Crossroads in the fall of 2017. DESCRIPTION:Captivity to Freedom is a community offered to men who feel captive to the slavery of sin. The truth is that many men are stuck in sexual bondage\, stuck in slavery to porn and lustful thoughts. To you\, Jesus says\, “I have come to proclaim release to the Captives\, and Freedom to the oppressed.” Join a small group of guys who are pursuing holiness and healing together. Group runs weekly from September through May. There is also a group offered on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30PM. \nRegistration is required. My whole life I “knew” of Jesus\, but that simple knowledge did nothing to free me from a life of slavery. Somewhere deep in my soul I desired freedom but I honestly had never even thought it was possible. My marriage was deteriorating\, and I was a drunk that was driven by fear and lust.. Then God…\, through the love and counsel of a brother in Christ\, walked me through steps of repentance and forgiveness. Jesus destroyed the chains that held me captive. SUMMARY:Men's Manistee River Trail Hike & Canoe Trip
DESCRIPTION:Sometimes you just need to get away… If you enjoy rustic backpacking on beautiful hiking trails by pristine rivers and creeks\, as well as a chance to explore with a group of guys who are pursuing God and brotherhood together\, join us! \nThe Manistee River Trail is one of Michigan’s most scenic and popular trails. We will begin on Friday afternoon by hiking about 5 miles and camping overnight on the trail. On Saturday\, we will do the remainder of the trail and end up at the National Forest Campground at Seaton Creek. On Sunday\, we will hike back to the river and do a 9 mile canoe paddle back to the original starting point. \nThis retreat weekend will be a combination of fun and adventure in the outdoors\, space to breathe and reflect\, and great conversations with the guys on the trip. We will share some stories and life experiences together while exploring some themes related to community and living a life with healthy rhythms. \nModerate hiking ability is necessary\, and guys need to provide their own backpacking/camping gear. We will schedule a packing party closer to the trip so guys can make sure they have what they need. \nSign Up Here

SUMMARY:Men's Retelling Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The heart of a man is hardwired to connect with God\, seek adventure alongside a band of brothers\, and partner with God in impacting the world. But too often we forsake this kind of life and just give ourselves to the daily grind. This weekend is about the recovery of your heart. It’s about plugging yourself into the larger story that God is writing in this world instead of the lesser narratives all around us. It’s about getting real with each other and with God. \nAt a story retreat we will explore the woods\, enjoy the cabin\, eat great food\, and gather around the campfire. However\, the real meat of the weekend will be an opportunity to explore our stories\, and confront the ways in which the enemy has tried to keep us down. We go to the wilderness to explore the things that make our hearts come alive\, but we also go to the wilderness to unearth and tend to the places in our story where we feel stuck so we can open ourselves up to receive all God has for us. \nThe weekend is a combination of fun in the wilderness\, storytelling\, times of reflection\, and times of sharing together. The cabin will be comfortable\, the wilderness beautiful\, the meals delicious\, and the campfires will burn into the night.
