- Sundays: 9 + 11 AM
We believe that church isn’t a building. We don’t go to church, we are the church. And we, as the church, are planted in the city of Grand Rapids to be the good news of the gospel to those around us. Our Neighbor Care Team of staff and volunteers is passionate about fulfilling Micah 6:8 right in our neighborhood:
“He has shown you, o man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly (discipleship) with your God.” – Micah 6:8
We have identified that many in our city don’t have access to the proper technology or computer literacy to take their next step. We seek to help with basic things like ordering a birth certificate so they can get an ID, opening a bank account, setting up a mailing address, applying for jobs or filling out new hire paperwork. With access to a computer, a printer and a friend who can walk alongside them, we believe our neighbors can much more easily overcome hurdles and take their next step. Our team of staff & volunteers holds a Resource Center each Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am-2pm to meet with neighbors and provide access to computers & printers.
We also recognize that sometimes people need help financially. It is our privilege to partner with neighbors and other local churches and non-profits to meet financial needs too. We are eager to walk alongside those in our neighborhood who are proactively taking steps toward sustainable solutions.
The desire of our hearts is to walk humbly with God and call others to do the same, sharing with them about Jesus & showing them the love of Jesus. With the belief that a key way out of poverty is having a relational network, we seek to be advocates and friends to those we care for. We are working to develop a team of volunteers who are committed to humbly walk in relationship with neighbors and provide long term discipleship and care.
