Read Genesis 22:1-19

Does the Lord function as the true center of my life? To answer this question, consider what you look to for your identity, satisfaction, significance, worth, and joy.

Abraham completely trusted in the Lord to deliver on his promises, even though he didn't understand the why, how or what of the Lord's request to sacrifice Isaac. Will God always come through? Is God always good? What makes you doubt his willingness to act on your behalf? How might you remind yourself of God's faithfulness, when you find yourself doubting God's love for you?

Are there times when you feel that God "owes" you something? What triggers that response? How might we move our 21rst century mindset closer to those of Abraham's time?

Discuss the similarities between what transpired in Genesis 22 and Jesus' crucifixion.

How might you give your whole heart to the Lord?
