Brandon & Gabe
Brandon, Gabrielle (Gabe), Adelyn, and Noelle are based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, but travel all over Asia helping Christian leaders learn how to counsel others using biblical truths and ethical practices. (Because of the sensitive nature of many of the places where Brandon works, we’re not using their last name.)
After pastoring and working on staff at Crossroads for more than a decade, we were sent out to Chiang Mai, Thailand, in late 2020. Brandon accepted a role teaching Christian counseling at a seminary focused on providing graduate education in places where education was inaccessible or unaffordable. He is currently the professor and director of the counseling program at Asia Biblical Theological Seminary in Chiang Mai.
This seminary, a subsidiary of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, has been teaching in the region for over 40 years and currently has cohorts spread across South, Southeast, and Central Asia, and even one cohort in the Middle East. Most of these countries have little to no mental health resources, and church leaders are responsible for shepherding their community without training. As such, we set out to launch a first-of-its-kind Master of Arts in Counseling degree available in some of the least resourced areas in Asia. By God’s grace, the program is up and running in three countries with many more requesting to be included in next year’s cohorts.
Our kids are such an important part of our life and ministry and we are so thankful for Grace International School here in Chiang Mai. Find out how you can join what God is doing at GIS: Click Here
