Mark & Kris Crooks

Mark and Kris live in Madrid, Spain and serve as the Regional Member Care Coordinators for TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission). The missionaries they minister to work in seven countries in Europe: Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Hungary. Their work is to encourage their missionaries in the values, attitudes and actions that promote spiritual, relational, physical, mental, and emotional health while living and serving in a cross-cultural context.

Mark was born in rural Michigan and went to NorthPoint Christian School. Kris is the daughter of missionaries to Venezuela and the two of them met while studying at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago preparing for ministry.

They began their missionary service together with TEAM in Venezuela in 1989, sent out at that time from Calvary Church. A few years after Crossroads Bible Church was started, they began to attend services during their home assignments in Grand Rapids and later became partners. Their adult children also became part of Crossroads during their college years.

The first 30 years of their missionary career was spent in church planting and multiplying church leaders in Venezuela (1989-2004), in Italy (2004-2015) and in the US (2015-2020). During these five years in the US, Mark and Kris helped lead a church-planting team sent out by Crossroads.

Mark and Kris’ passion for mentoring and caring for people in ministry led them to move back to Europe in 2020, with Crossroads as their sending church, and serve as the Regional Member Care Coordinators for TEAM’s workers in Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary. Their desire is to see emotionally healthy global workers, thriving in their cross-cultural ministry context. They work to provide access to regional member care resources and personally encourage individual missionaries in attitudes and actions that result in healthy people, able to serve others. They draw from rich life and pastoral ministry experience serving on three continents.
