Sermon Application Questions

Discuss the commonalities between Jesus and Jeremiah. What does Jeremiah teach us about Jesus? Look back at your notes from the last four weeks’ sermons, the book of Jeremiah, and the Gospels for help.

As I live in exile, what exemptions from God’s standards am I giving myself? Why? How do these exemptions add to the chaos in my life? What might be different if I upheld God’s standard instead? Is that desirable? Why or why not? If so, what should my next step be?

What do we need to do to be faithful in the midst of exile? (DanMike mentioned a number of them at the beginning of the sermon.) What ones are easier for you? What is most difficult? How might your Christian community encourage and support you in those that are difficult?

How could you live out stubborn faithfulness over the next 24 hours or week?
