Sermon Application Questions

1: From Romans 1-5, Dr Gombis pointed out that our new boast is how we identify ourselves in Christ as Christians. Therefore, we are boasting in our groups identity and therefore boasting in the "right group" is eliminated.
One way we boast in Christ is through our sufferings that fuel perseverance. (Romans 5:3) Have you experienced this in your walk as a Christian? Please give an example.

2: Dr. Gombis mentioned several takeaways from his sermon on Romans 1-11:
One of them is the fundamental importance of unity in the church. What are ways the church is divided with disunity? What are ways the church can be more unified?

Another takeaway mentioned was that glorifying God is demonstrated in welcoming and serving others. How have you individually welcomed and served others? How has your house church welcomed and served others?
