Sermon Application Questions

The widow tells Elijah that she is running out of flour and oil. In what ways do you feel your life is "running out"? (i.e. lost job, health, patience)

Rod provided an image of a jar of oil. What does the jar symbolize? What about the oil? How does the image humble you? How does it exalt and encourage you?

Every day, the widow's jar was poured into and poured out. What does this symbolize? How is God pouring into you? Explain. How are you pouring out?

The widow that Elijah interacted with was from a foreign land and very poor. Rod referred to her as an outsider. In your own life, how have you embraced the outsider? How have you been blessed by the outsider?
